J.C. Le Roux
When French wines were being transported in the sunny Mediterranean weather, it was discovered that a second fermentation occurred, making the wine sparkling and bubbly. This was the birth of champagne as it is called in France. Today, just outside Stellenbosch, in the center of the scenic Devon Valley, the J.C. Le Roux cellar uses a similar process to produce vintage sparkling wines.
This adherence to tradition combined with the latest in wine making technology is the hallmark of J.C. Le Roux. The delicate care taken at every step of the process is the factor that is probably responsible for making it South Africa’s foremost producer of Méthode Cap Classiques.
J.C. Le Roux was the first winemaker in South Africa to utilize Pinot noir grapes in its Cap Classique. Close attention to detail is apparent in the complex flavor of the wine that has just the right level of crispness. Ask anyone in the country to list his favorite drink; at least one if not all of the J.C. Le Roux brands of Sauvignon Blanc, Le Domaine or La Chanson are sure to figure prominently.
J.C. Le Roux wines are easy on the palate and with an alcohol content of less than 8%, these are the best choice for everyday drinking.
