Arniston Bay – the name evokes an old world charm, reminiscent of images of a tranquil coast that bespeaks of a laid back life, free from the cares of the world – quite contrary to the situation that inspired its name.
Arniston Bay is named after a British ship called ‘The Arniston’ which sank on the reefs in this area, killing about 372 wounded soldiers on the way back from Ceylon to England. It is to the credit of the South Africans that they’ve converted one of the worst disasters in their history to a brand that’s synonymous with carefree moments of outdoor dining and easy wine drinking.
Arniston Bay wines are natural, with that unique personal touch that comes from selecting the very best produce of the vineyard. The remarkable blending process that follows gives it just the right elegance. No wonder that WINE magazine conferred the Best Value Award to the Arniston Bay wines in the year 2009.
Arniston Bay also takes its social commitments very seriously; the company is involved with many ventures that serve to help quite a few underprivileged communities. When you enjoy the eco-friendly Arniston Bay wines, you are, in a way, contributing to a worthy cause, too.
